Chronic Kidney Disease

Chronic kidney disease can be defined as a condition that progresses silently, meaning it has no immediate or specific symptoms. Over time, the kidneys’ filtering function gradually deteriorates. The earlier the condition is detected and treated, the more likely it is that daily lifestyle changes can be implemented to slow its progression.

End-Stage Chronic Kidney Disease

Chronic kidney disease is considered “end-stage” when it requires replacement therapy through kidney transplantation or dialysis. There are two types of dialysis treatment: hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. The best option is chosen based on the patient’s preference and lifestyle.
